When it comes to
makeup application the right tools are just as important as the product you are using on your face. Do you use makeup brushes?
Those sponges and eye shadow swabs that come in our compacts may be free but they are certainly not the best tools for the job. After a while they become grimy and over-ridden with bacteria from only a few uses and pretty difficult to get clean completely. We are all guilty about purchasing a bag of those spongy wedges at the drug store once our regular applicators bite the dust. To be perfectly honest they soak up way more foundation than needed and fall apart if you try to wash them. Wash them, what? Yes, that's what I said. Have you looked at them lately. I mean really looked at them ... caked with dried foundation or powder and dead skin cells. Talk about groaty !!!!
So ladies, the key is invest in a good set of brushes. They will glide over your face's contours, allowing you to apply what you need with a smooth, flawless finish while not irritating sensitive skin. Brush sets
are available for as little as $15 and will prove a worthwhile investment.
Maintenance is easy. Just wash them weekly to rid of bacteria and product buildup with water and gentle soap or even baby shampoo, rinse and lay flat to dry. A really good sable set will last for years.
