LIPS PLAYS VITAL ROLL IN THE BEAUTY

Lips need shine, colour, and careful shaping. Learn to outline lips, using a pencil or brush and a darker or lighter tone than that of the overall colour. It gives a cleaner, neater, fresher look than a stick alone. For greater control, rest elbow on the table using the hand like a lever. Outline bottom lip first, from center to right corner, from center to left corner. Extend slightly at the corners to give the mouth an upward lift. Outline the upper lip, again from the center to the corners. Fill in with colour either with a brush or the lipstick. Don’t run over the outline. For extra shine use gloss over the lipstick.
Making lip corrections is not always successful as alterations can be very obvious, particularly when lipstick starts to wear off. Never attempt to reshape the whole mouth, keep the colour subdued. These are subtle corrections.
TOO BIG: outline just inside the natural line, using a light shade, fill in with a deeper but still lightish tone.
TOO FULL: avoid bright, shiny or heavy colours, keep lipstick just inside natural lip line, outline in almost-matching shade.
TOO THIN: outline in a light shade just outside the natural lip line, stopping a little short at the corners, fill in with a deeper tone.
UNEVEN: when lips don’t match in thickness, use two different shades a darker one for the thickest lip, a lighter one for the other.
