Most women, fearing that the age and decreased levels of hormones, so their use, and often the desire for sex.
Fortunately, while diminishing hormones and sex has become one breath, the latest research suggests that sexual desire has less to do with these changes than other lifestyle and sexual health factors for women, at least some of which are under the direct control of women.
According to reports from the major group of European experts in the field of sex first supplement to Menopause, Journal of the North American Menopause Society, the findings help health professionals to get rid of the notion that sexual problems occur near menopause are either biological or physiological.
The new research was part of a series of studies on female sexual dysfunction in the department of clinical psychiatry and psychotherapy in the Hannover Medical School in Hanover, Germany. Throughout the project, 102 women aged from 20 to "45 plus" answered 165 questions designed to flush out factors of female sexual satisfaction.
Specifically, he hoped that researchers find satisfaction with sexual life in general, sexual satisfaction and orgasm during sexual intercourse, petting, masturbation, attitudes towards sexuality, partnership and quality of women's sexual health myths.
Based on the study, it seemed that no differences in terms of frequency of sexual intercourse or the desire for sexual activity does not require contact between different age groups. Age made a distinction in terms of frequency of orgasm or sexual satisfaction rating with their partners. For example, 29% of women under 45 years reported that orgasms "very often", compared with 26% of women older than 45 years.
Even more dramatic was that while 41% of women aged over 45 reported that orgasms "often," only 29% of younger women reported that orgasm "often".
Among the few differences in the groups: women over 45 reported having fewer orgasms during non-intercourse sexual activity or masturbation. Both groups of women reported two dimensions necessary for successful lovemaking, which included both feelings of emotional closeness to their partner and satisfactory physical experience.
After comparing all the responses from the older and younger women, as well as from women who reported sexual problems, and those who did not, researchers concluded that one of the most influential factor with regard to the sexual health of women through sexual intercourse satisfaction was the quality of the partnership, and particular the quality of mutual respect, which then becomes more important as a woman ages.
After comparing the results of this study before and interim results, scientists concluded that at least some sexual problems that occur in middle age could be menopausal status or age. Instead, life stressors, contextual factors, past sexuality, health and mental health problems are important predictors of middle-aged women's sexual health interest than menopause status itself.
This study was just one of several research papers presented in the magazine on women's health sexual dysfunction. Each of them tries to shed much needed light on the subject, which some believe has been hidden in the shadows for too long.
