Everyone is aware of the dangers of smoking. It is absolutely harmful to human body. These marketing campaigns not only depicted as beautiful women, smokers, independent and fun, but also sent a subliminal message that smoking helps women manage their weight. Cigarette ads are banned on children and youth, but magazines billion dollars spent on TV, billboards, magazines and adults, which can be easily accessible for young people.
Since 1987, lung cancer surpassed breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States. About 87% of all cases of lung cancer in America is directly linked to smoking. Smoking causes heart disease, which is the number one killer of women in the U.S. the dangers of smoking contributes to respiratory diseases such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis, as well as many types of cancer.
Women who smoke also damage the appearance of smoking accelerates the aging process and produce more facial wrinkles, gum disease, tooth decay and bad breath. Mental health is also affected as a result of depression and anxiety disorders. Women are more depressed than non-smokers, and that women with anxiety disorders are more likely to smoke.
Some women are finding creative ways to overcome the addictive good. Engaging in activities where the smoke does not fit, such as exercising, cycling, mountain-climbing, as well as turning to non-smoking lifestyle, which includes the smoke-free places with their children.
